Production blog: editing continued

 Having the second phase of filming finished meant that I had filmed all the takes needed for the entire film. Although I had the filmed the entire film, it didn't mean I was finished with the project. At this point, I was only getting halfway done with the project and still had many more steps before the film was completely finished. At this time with all the scenes filmed, it was time to edit the project as a whole. This will also help me see what the project as a whole look like and what parts of the film need more work on. 

When beginning the second part of editing, I had to do the same thing I did for the first time of editing when it came to moving the takes to an editing software. In this process, I exported and imported the takes from my phone to my computer. After this step, I then dumping all the footage to the film. This would then allow me to drag the footage for each scene and allow me to organize it in order. After organizing the scenes in order, I could now watch the film in the entirety to see what parts needed to be cut or shorted to make the film look smooth. 

When editing, one problem I ran into is the time frame of the film. Having the film over 2 minutes long was an outcome that I could not have since one of the criteria was for it to be only 2 minutes long. When trying to fix this, I notice that I was almost impossible to shorted or cut a scene to make the film the correct amount of time. To fix this problem I would have to re-film some scenes in a shorten amount of time. This would be important because it would make the film look smoother than cutting the footage. 

This is why the editing process was important to be gone through as without it, the filmed would be incorrect.  Another part of this editing process that was important to pay attention to was the part involving the last few scenes. During these scenes, I would have to add the title card and the directed by. This step was easier then thought since having added the credits in the beginning help me learn how to complete these parts. When finishing this, the film was finished with the unfixed scenes still being in the film but, as of right now it would be left until I was able to film another day to get the scenes that need to be fix and shortened.
