Title Research: Silent Hill Revelation

 Using the website www.watchthetitles.com this is the research gathered for the horror film Silent Hill Revolution. Using this website allows me to break down the open sequence of the film to detect the essential pieces of information being shown this early on.

In the opening sequence of Silent Hill Revelation we see the production company, name of actors, producers and directors. This allows us to see you has worked on the film. Letting us know who has worked on the film is not only important for us but, them as well as it allows them to get credit for the work they put in the film.

The images that are prioritized in the opening sequence seems to be monster/creatures in a fight/attacking.  Showing this is important as it foreshadows what the main character will have to face in film. Having the images stuck in motion also allows for the viewers to see the full effect and danger that these creatures can cause.

The connotations that these images carry show the severity of the situation. Showing the chaos the these creatures can create makes the evil in them seem greater. This is important as it shows the viewers that they are highly dangerous and should be avoided at all cost or lives could be at risk.

How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?

This film established a feeling of the genre from the outcast by showing the destruction of the scene in slow motion, allowing to see how powerful and dangerous these creatures can be. Another way this film establishes a feeling of the genre is by the music being played. Having a music with a deep tone, the viewers can relate this to death or sadness.

What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?

Some strategies used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience is the us of monster/creatures and death. Showing the creatures from the beginning allows the audience to be prepared to see human lives at risk. Having shown the evil creatures in the beginning also allows us to see the chaos and death that they bring. 

How has technology been used efficiently?

Having the camera panel through the room and being in a close-shot allows us to see the complete damage that this evil presence can create. Allowing the camera to rotate with dark lighting brings out elements of the horror genre. By doing this technology is being used efficient as a creepy vibe is being portrayed.

Enhancement in Filming and Editing

Being that this project was the second official filming project I had, their definitely things I changed during and after I finished the project. Although I knew I was happy with the results, there was still for improvement and with the time I had left before the music video was truly due thats what I did. If I felt that a scene should be reshot or edited more thats what I did. By doing this, I would make my film look better as I improved the shots took and the smoothness of the film. I believe making these changes truly helped my film as developed the storyline. One of the main reasons why I decided to change a few scenes is because of how I felt with them.
