Genre Research: Horror

The opening for my film will follow the steps of a the genre of horror. The reason I picked this genre is because it best fits the storyline I am trying to convey. This storyline will follow the main character being hunted by a serial killer. This will then lead to the character hiding from the killer as they have close encounter. Creating suspense in some scenes, trying to get the viewers on the edge of their seats as they wondering if the main character will get killed. When coming to the conclusion of which genre I will follow, I thought of what the scenes of my film will look like. By thinking of what I wanted my film to look like I helped myself to see which elements of my film was the closest to the elements of all the genres. When doing this I found that my film best fit the elements of a horror movie, now seeing that the scenes I thought of could have been viewed in many horror films. By having chosen this genre, I am now able to see what steps I need to follow to make my film embody the structure that a horror film has. Going on from this point, I will refer to the elements that horror films have, making the research vital to the end result of my final task.
