Cutting and smoothing the Wilson X Gatorade commercial

Today was the where I took all the takes I had from filming day and I used the clips to make the commercial. Before beginning the editing process some steps were required so that I could have the takes on my computer. The steps required that I had to do were importing and exporting the takes from my phone to my laptop, after this I had to dump all the footage on iMovie which would allow to drag the footage that I wanted to. These steps allowed me to finally start editing. One of the most important parts of being the director and editing the commercial was that I got to decide what parts I wanted and if I wanted to shorten a clip down to a certain point. This was Important because being that the commercial was only allowed to be 30 seconds, time was important and I couldn't have long clips as it would waste the space I had. Since time was crucial, after I picked the takes I wanted I then looked through them to see if I had unnecessary seconds that I could just clip out of it. Clipping out seconds was very valuable as not only did it bring my project to the 30 second mark but, it also add more time to the commercial which I used by adding an ending black screen with both my product brands. While clipping out help me shorten the commercial down it also brought one big problem. One things that I noticed was that when editing the clips down, it started to make the footage choppy as the scenes changed. This wasn't good because when watching the commercial the choppiness of the videos made the storyline look abstract and not understandable. Thats why when I went to go and edit the footage, I kept on going back and forth between the slides so that when it went on to the next scene it would look smooth. After the footage was all complete I rewatched the Commercial to spot any errors or problems that might have been created which would mess up how the video looked. Once I was satisfied with how the video looked, I then went to find a song to use as the noise. The reason why I wanted music instead of Dialogue is because I felt that music would have added more to the commercial than dialogue and increase the storyline of hard work. I got the music by Mp3 and then dragged it below to footage while deleting the noise from the actual footage. This not only made it so that is was easier to hear the music but also allowed me to edit/cut the music down to the 30 second mark. After fixing the music by placing it in the correct spot, I felt that the editing process as a whole was complete. I once again rewatched the Commercial to see if I was happy with the end result of how the editing was done if it looked smooth to the eye when a new scene happened. Watching it for the last time made me confident that I was happy with the editing done and that there was nothing needed to be changed.
