Wilson X Gatorade Commercial
With the ending of making and finishing the commercial, I am truly happy on the outcome of how the Wilson X Gatorade commercial ended up. Through the process of this commercial I learned a lot about filming and editing. One of the biggest aspect of filming that I learned through this commercial was how to use the different camera angles and movements. Although I already know what the angles and movements were used for and how they look, this was my first time using them in filming. The thing I took from this was that a camera angle can define a scene as it tells shapes how the viewers react. This can make or break a scene because if the incorrect angle or movement is used it can interrupt the storyline making the film look awkward. This is why it was important to cover all camera angles and movements to see which one best fit the scene. For this reason I feel that I have improved on my filming skills. Another important skill developed beside filming is editing. My editing skills previously were usually just cutting out parts of the video and putting black screen to separate scenes but, I this commercial project I did something different. For this project instead of separating scenes with a black screen, I ended up editing the the scenes and smoothing them out so that when a new scene happened it looked like a shot continued without choppiness. This was different as it took more work to help the film look better but, by improving my editing skills it definitely improved the commercial. At the end of this project I can tell that I have improved and developed my film making skills dramatically as the commercial looks professional. After going through this journey, if done again I would do somethings differently. One of the biggest things that I would change from this process would be the planning phase. The reason Why I would do the panning phase differently is because of the delay it caused. Instead of planning the film making process by stating which angles and movements will be used, I would change it by putting that the camera shots would be decided during the day of filming. The reason why I would change it to this, is because when I started filming I got stuck on the shots being film since I said I was going it film it one way but, during it I found out that not all the camera angles and movements I said would not best fit the scene. by changing this, I could save time by not staying stuck on having only one picture of how the project would look like and instead have options. Even though I got stuck on some parts of the process in this journey I am still happy on the Commercial ended up and I feel that the Commercial I made, best captures the products used.
