Production blog: Filming Finished
Although having one actor end up sick during a week like spring break delayed the final production of the project, it was something that I could easily overcome. Even though all I wanted to do is film to finish the filming process, it just went that I had to wait a little bit until it was safe to film. Having the actor become sick in the beginning of spring break, it was until the Tuesday following up spring break that he became healthy enough to film. Just to make sure that it was actually safe to film, I didn't start filming backup until the actor went to the doctors and was given the ok to be outside. That is why I as soon as he went to the doctors and was told he was healthy again on Tuesday, the very next day we began to film again. On Wednesday when I started to film again, I went right into filming with the actors. This is because I didn't want to film on another day. I knew that I could get it down all that day and be able to complete the project to see how it will end up looking. This time, it was a lot easier to get into filming since the actors already knew how I wanted the film to look like as we didn't have to go over the scene step by step. One thing done differently this time that help fix the mistake seen in the film was showing the actors the clip and telling them what to do differently. This was helpful as they knew what not to do this time and allowed them to change either their movement or expression to better fit the scene and fix the mistake.
As the actors and I went through all the scenes we need to be re-filmed, we also speed up the acting to help the timing of the film. Having most of the scenes left to be re-filmed at night also helped, as I didn't have to rush against daylight. This allowed me to space out the scenes, allowing for it to get darker and making the film have more suspense and mystery. This also allowed for the film to look like it had a greater passing of time. When the actors and I started filming it was 7-Pm and we finished at 11-pm giving us enough time to complete all the filming to fix the mistakes. By finishing all the filming it meant that as of right now no more filming should be done, meaning that only editing would take place after this. The only time that would make me come back to filming would be if something major was detect during the editing process that would need to be fixed. Although I wrapped up the filming process, the project still wasn't finished as it still need to be edited and reviewed. As the project came closer to an end, I was happy with how it was looking like and excited to see how the final product would look like after the editing was finished.
