Production blog: Sick Day
During the week of spring break, I was suppose to finish up all my filming and editing for this project but, things didn't go as plan. Having already done the second part of editing, I was going to use the week to re-film any scenes that had mistakes or were too long. The reason I was going to do it that week is because we had no school, meaning that I could finish it since I would have the whole day. The reason why I didn't get to film during these days and add to my project was because on of the actors got sick (stomach flu/bug). Having it being the main actor of the film made it worse since they were in every scene, meaning that no filming could have happened without him. Having this happen also made me decide not to film anything for the safety of everyone working on the project. Having this illness spread through contact with the infected meant that if we were to film with the actor, we all would be at risk of getting the illness. Since I didn't want to put the safety of everyone at risk, I felt that it would be better to not film until the actor felt healthy enough to where he could act and not get anyone sick. Luckily it is not going to take long before we can start filming again as the actor has already started to feel much healthier as he was finishing up the last few days of being sick. This means that once we are able to start filming again, I am going to finish up and finally wrap up this project in the filming and editing process. This meaning that the final product will be finished the the film will be complete. Although I didn't get to finish filming the final parts of the project, the days of spring break didn't go to waste. Instead of not doing nothing during the time the actor feels sick, I decided to spend the time editing the parts of the film I did have. Even though I already edited it for the most part during the second part of editing, I went back to look at it even more closer. During this time I copied the film into a different project. This copy of the film would then be the part that would be messed with during the editing process without messing up the original until filming begins again. This would also help me at the end because just in case I do like how the copy ended, I can just work on it from there and forget about working on the original. When working on the copy of the film, my goal was to try to get it to the shortest amount as possible. When this was finished, I was happy with how it ended up looking but, I still was going to keep the original while work on both of them to see which one turns out better. I would then pick the one I like more as the final product of the project.
