What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?
Elements in the genre of horror that I chose to base my final task that the movie Us has is the element of Mis-En-Scene and music/sound. One thing that this movie does a good job is selecting music that gives the viewers chills, making the evil presence grow bigger and bigger even having the viewers feel like the presence is near them. Adding to this is the Mis-En-Scene used, having the evil wear costumes that make them look creeper. These costume with the dark lighting allows for the killers to look more dominant which makes the evil seem greater highlighting the danger that they bring. I will try to bring this to my film by having the killer wear a costume that makes him put fear to his victims.
What elements of the genre did the movie have that you like?
One element of the genre that the movie Us had that I liked it the symbolism they used. Although it is tricky to add this to my film, I felt the the directors for Us did an amazing job adding it to their film. In the film, the directors even add hints and clues to what these symbols and metaphors meant helping the viewers. This symbolism not only added a different aspect to the movie but, it added to the greater scheme by having the viewers dive deeper to the meaning of plot. This too many also added to the horrific scene that the movie had, making the film scarier to the viewers.

Elements in the genre that the film had that did not appeal to me is the element of pace. In this film, I felt that at some points the pace was very slow or very fast. This effects how the film is viewed because of the film is going to slow the viewers might get bored having to wait until something interesting happen. If the pace is too quick, the viewers could also miss important. This means that the pace of any movie has to just right, allowing the viewers focus remain on the screen and understand the film as it goes.
