Genre Research: Action

In this project, we were set to pick and research a genre from Horror, Comedy, Action (etc.). After viewing each of these genres, I decided to pick Action. Now having picked the genre, the next step was to research the common conventions shown in the genre films. These conventions consisted of Common lighting, Common Camera Angles, Common Movements, Common Mis En Scene, Elements of Action, Action Film Examples, Sound in Action, Elements I like, and Elements I don't Like. All these conventions researched would then create the slides used in the project as I explained each one by definition while giving examples of them used in different films. For example, for common camera angles used in action films I found the long shots, mid-shot, and close-shots were the ones most found in this genre. This project was helpful since it allowed us to study conventions even more but, it also allowed us to see how these conventions were used in these genre and why it made the film the way it did making it look like the genre.
