Don't You Worry Child Music Video

By writing this blog, it means that the music video of "Don't You Worry Child" is finally complete. Although this journey and process was very long, it was also a fun one that I would do again. With the time extension in this project allowing us to record 60 seconds rather than 30 seconds, it allowed me to be more creative and express what I truly wanted the music video to look like without a time restriction. Being able to have more time, it allowed me to do more in the film with the scenes. In this project I was able to add two locations instead of just one in the Commercial project, because I could explain what was happening in the two locations making sure that the storyline explained it. This was a big differenced because now it wouldn't look like the characters are jumping around locations but, rather having them in-sync with the story and the music video.

Although this was fun to film it also made me face many challenges. One of the biggest ones encountered was timing the Scenes with the lyrics that corresponded with each other. This is because, in the beginning a scene would be ahead of the lyrics so, the music video would be off as the scene wouldn't match the song. To fix this I had to cut or add a few scenes so that it could match the song and make it look smooth. Because of this obstacle I had to go back to the filming process when I was editing the music video the first time. Even though this set me back a little, I was happy that it happened. The reason why I was happy was because not only did I learn a valuable lesson about on having the sound on when filming so, that I knew when to record but, also the set back made my music video better by adding much need scenes.

After having gone through everything I went through in this journey of creating a music video, I would say that I would do it all over again. The reason why I would do all this again even with the mistakes is because not only did my filming skill develop but, my editing skills developed dramatically. This was the first time I actually edited a film for a long time, having to check the scenes matching the song made me pay close attention to the length of the takes. While editing it was vital that I shortened and lengthen a scene to match the song as make it look smooth. Now knowing the things I know now, I would not make the same mistakes again and thats why I would do it all over again
. Learning from this means that next time it will be easier for me to make a film and not face the same challenges. Although I face difficult obstacles I haven't seen before, I really enjoyed making this music video and I am really happy with how it ended out.
