Introduction to the Music Video Project

 In this following Project I will be filming a music video that will be 60 seconds long. The song I picked was to make the video is  Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House. The reason why I choose this song instead of another one is because of the lyrics. I feel that the lyrics give a clear picture of scenes that should be filed to create a music video. This is because when hearing the song, it automatically paints a picture in your head of what happening as each verse tells a part of the music video. For example, a part of the lyrics says " Up on the hill across the blue lake Thats where I had my first heart break" which gives an easy shot since its picturing someone getting broken up with at a Lake. With the song already telling a story, as a director and planning out the Music video all I would have to do is follow the lyrics and pick which pictures come to mind when hearing the music video. Doing this would allow me to create the scenes and see what major parts I would capture. Out of all the song I gathered, I felt that this is was the one that spoke out more to me as it drew me to already create the scenes. Another part that help me pick this song was that most if not all the song was the same as it repeated itself and did not change in lyrics. With it being almost the same through out, it helps me out since I would have to get 60 second were all the lyrics are heard and not changed since it would tell the same story throughout. For this music video I will be working without any classmates but, not by myself. What I mean by this is that none of the students In my class would help me with my project but, my friends would be in the video. The reasons why I choose to work by myself is because I felt that it would be easier to create a story and capture it in film without having creative differences happening if someone else wanted a scene to look a different way. Although I would be working by myself to create the project, when it came to filming I would have friends that aren't in AICE Media Studies to play as the actors and actresses. I would have my friends as actors because the story would capture multiple people in a scene instead of just following one person throughout the video. This would help me change the my music video from the actual music video done by the Swedish House as I would be telling a showing a different story. In my story I would be capturing a son who is recalling the good times he has had with his father who has passed away. Afterwards it would capture him getting broken up with as he would have his first heartbreak mentioned in the lyrics. The reason why I want these two emotional scenes is because I want to contrast the ending of the video with the beginning. I would end the video with the son becoming successful in life just like his father said he would have been. With these scenes matching what the lyrics describe, I fell that the story being created would best fit the music and make it seem like its the actual music video.
